On behalf of the Board of Trustees and Steerng Committee of the New HIV Vaccine and Microbicide Advocacy Society
and its partners, I would like to cordially invite all of you to the first in a series of conferences on biomedical
HIV Prevention research and development to be held in November 18th to 19th November 2013, in Abuja, Nigeria.
The meeting promises to be an exciting and memorable experience.
I hope that you will take this opportunity to network with your national and international peers and keep abreast of the latest developments in biomedical HIV prevention research. The program will offer a superb opportunity for researchers and stakeholders in and around Africa to meet and discuss with regional and international researchers invested in recent ground breaking findings in the field. You would also be able to meet with others whose intellectual discussions and perspectives can influence the field tremendously.
Abuja is the capital city of Nigeria. Abuja is a planned city built mainly in the 1980s. It officially became Nigeria's capital on 12 December 1991, replacing Lagos, which is still the country's most populous city. At the 2006 census, the city of Abuja had a population of 776,298, making it one of the top ten most populous cities in Nigeria. It has rich culture and traditions combined with many modern resources. We believe you will have a chance to enjoy, not only an attractive city, but all of the Nigerian hospitality and warmth we would be offering you. We look forward to meeting and working with all of you here in Nigeria with a vision that this conference will be an additional effort at addressing the global HIV epidemic.
